Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank

We have many people in our community that run into a short term financial crisis and may need food assistance once, normally to bridge the food gap until payday rolls around. Anybody can get one box and just sign for it and we may never see them again. We don't want to make people jump through hoops for one box. It's already humbling enough to ask. If a household is going to need ongoing help, due to a fixed income, low-income wages, terminal or chronic illness, loss of a job, etc., they come into our office after getting their initial food box. We have a client intake person available Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 3:30. Our client intake person sits down with each household and discusses their current situation and what's going on.

Lawyer Referral Service

The Oregon State Bar's Lawyer Referral Service ("LRS") has a variety of programs to assist the public in finding the right lawyer. The LRS does not employ lawyers, answer legal questions, or give legal advice. LRS maintains lists of lawyers according to areas of law and geographic area and makes referrals on a rotating basis among lawyers on the list. LRS does not direct, oversee or warrant the legal advice or representation provided by lawyers who accept referrals. We can, however, find an attorney based on your geographic area, area of law, language, and other specific needs you may have. LRS lawyers are in good standing with the bar, have no current disciplinary proceedings pending, carry malpractice insurance, and agree to abide by our customer service standards. For more information on our programs, please see the descriptions below.

Northwest Down Syndrome Association

NWDSA has been a parent-driven family support network since 1997. NWDSA’s mission is to create and nurture a loving and inclusive community celebrating every person with a disability including Down syndrome. NWDSA will accomplish this mission by empowering and supporting families and individuals who have been touched by developmental disability. Together with our cross-disability sister project, All Born (In), founded in 2006, we will work to increase education, promote public understanding and acceptance, work toward full inclusion, and defend the civil rights of individuals with Down syndrome. Our vision also embraces professionals and the cross-disability community. Our statement of values is the core of our organization and the basis for how we make decisions to support our mission.
